Steven Brenner, 29, was traveling south on Railroad Road on his 1973 Harley Davidson when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road while speeding, Pennsylvania State Police said.

He drove off the road, hit a ditch in a driveway, and crashed into a farm trailer, police said. The man, who police say was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:40 p.m.

Family and friends are now raising funds to help with funeral and other costs for Brenner, whose survivors include his wife, Brooke, and one-year-old son, Jack.

"Brooke is understandably heartbroken and lost," reads the GoFundMe, started by Tricia Moyer-Mentzer.

"In addition to having Jack, Brooke has a household full of rescue dogs and ducks."

Born in Reading, Brenner was "always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it," his obituary says.

He worked as a truck driver for New Enterprise and was a member of the Temple Fire Company, according to his obit.

"I cannot imagine the pain Brooke is feeling at this time," Moyer-Mentzer wrote.

"Please share this fundraiser and donate whatever you can so that our friend who selflessly gives so much has one less thing to worry about right now."

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Leibensperger Funeral Homes on Peach Street in Leesport.
